Finally, the Christmas tree is up. A white twig tree that I wanted last year but didn’t know where to buy. Then, we heard from Speedy’s brother that we could get them from roadside stalls along Roxas Boulevard so off we went.
To our pleasant surprise, we learned that we could order a tree customized to our specifications. And so we did. A slim tree seven feet tall and two and half feet at the widest portion.
It’s the first time that Sam wasn’t able to do the decorating. She’s still busy with her mid-term project, a music video that she has been shooting for the past several weekends. Well, at least she’d be happy that we have a Christmas tree.
She’s really the reason why we have a Christmas tree every year because she hates Christmas without the trimmings. This year, she’s got all the trimmings she could ever want because I went shopping for Christmas decor. About time, really, because we had been hanging the same Christmas tree ornaments for, like, five or six years already.
And that’s this year’s Christmas tree with the color-coordinated ornaments. Basically, red and gold, and allied colors. I like it better this way rather than have ornaments in an explosion of unrelated colors and shapes. With the carefully chosen hangings, the tree has a pulled together look.
Will we have the same tree next year? Probably. The twig tree can be stored and refreshed with white water paint.
